The Way of the Siren

The sirens are an elite class of people who specialize in exploring the relationship between fear and beauty/coherence/ecstasy. They observe how fear and ecstasy tend to come hand in hand, how one evokes the other. They understand that many people have an actual deep fear of ecstasy and overwhelming abundance, a fear of having all barriers removed. It is their role to learn how to evoke subconscious fears through exposure to coherence and beauty. They are masters of fear and ecstasy.
There are several regions of focus to their practice. Each area centers on a form of coherence that evokes fear, and the reward if it is overcome, these are:
Death-Tranquility
Comparison-Inspiration
Power-Vitality
Worthiness-Energy
Vastness/Eternity-Restoration
Clarity-Endurance
Simplicity/Ease - Connection to Spirit
Consciousness - Magic

Sirens are known to be skilled musicians, understanding the presence of rhythmicity and harmonics in the fluctuations of emotions and energy. They are very skilled in the use of sound to evoke specific emotional reactions and psychological states including fear. They also understand the presence of their own emotional state as the source of the music in relationship to the effect they are trying to create in another.
Their way of writing sheet music is in a circular form, sometimes engraved on discs. Some discs are large enough to stand or sit in the center while it rotates around you, like a large mandala. The presentation is fractal in nature, hence the repeated pattern as the disc turns. Reading this kind of music requires improvisation. What is written is more of an underlying guideline.

One cannot expect to earn the trust or friendship of a siren without first mastering their fears. Approaching a siren rarely comes without some kind of test of fear. The siren does not go out to meet anyone, they expect others to cover all the distance. If you can demonstrate an authentic willingness to experience coherence and face your fears, they will become a source of support. Otherwise they will use their energy to tear you down.
It is their role to provide either support or contrast.
